About Us

This online global health resource has been created to provide a flexible foundational resource for students and faculty to more effectively engage in further study, research, or service in a global health context. The courses presented on this platform can be used to support individual learning or curricular global health activities. Learners can choose the order, timing and duration of their learning.

This resource is composed of a curated collection of freely accessible courses and learning modules already in existence from selected institutions and organizations. These materials have all been peer-reviewed by our team of faculty and students, a process which is ongoing to ensure that the collection is relevant and current. This is a dynamic resource – we want the best possible collection so we welcome suggestions for new content to be made available for learners.

The curation process is ongoing and we ask that you complete a review of each course that you take.  You can track all the courses you take on the My Reviews page.

Our Community:

Learners

For students and professionals who are considering volunteering, research, or service work in global health: This collection is considered foundational knowledge to enable you to pursue further learning or be better prepared to engage in a global health project or elective.

Educators

For faculty members who would like to integrate global health material into courses or into preparation for global health projects, research, or electives: This collection provides opportunities for flipped-classroom learning models. Educators can customize content to fit with existing curricular objectives and competencies.

Contributors

For those seeking to improve global health learning resources: We welcome suggestions for existing courses to review and include on this site. Are you thinking of developing an online global health course on a specific topic area that you would like to share on this site? We welcome any contributions of new content that will undergo the same peer review process.

We gratefully acknowledge the financial support for this project provided by UBC Students via the Teaching and Learning Enhancement Fund.
